This guide shows you how to create a folder of quiz questions in the Question Library and use it to randomly pull questions into a quiz for each student.
For example, if you have 100 questions in a folder, the quiz can randomly choose 20 questions for each student.
There are two main steps:
Step 1: Create a Section (folder) in the Question Library.
Step 2: Create a Question Pool in the quiz to pull questions from that section.
Click Course Admin, and select Quizzes tool.
Click the Question Library tab.
Click New and select Section from the drop-down.
Name the section with a unique name you can identify later. Select options as needed to “Hide Section Text from learners”, “Shuffle questions in this section”. Then select “Save”.
Click the New button and select the first question type you’d like to add from the drop-down menu. After creating and saving the question, repeat this process to add additional questions to the section.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have already created these questions in a quiz, click Import and select Browse Existing Questions to select the questions and add them to this section.
Once all questions have been created or imported for this section, click Done Editing Questions.
Go to Course Admin > Quizzes. Under Manage Quizzes > Click New Quiz and enter a name for the quiz. For example, Chapter 1: Introduction Quiz, Grade points, Due date etc.
Click the Create New button and select Question Pool from the drop-down menu. Then click Browse Question Library. From the new Dialog box, Select the section you previously created in part 1, then click Import.
Enter the number of questions you want to appear in the quiz (e.g., 20 out of 100 questions created in the section), and specify the point value for each question.
Click Save when finished.
