How can I highlight key ideas and add interaction with Creator+ tools in Talon?

Creator+ Callout Boxes and Click&Reveal

Highlight Key Ideas and Add Interaction with Callout Boxes and Click & Reveal

When course content grows into long pages of text, important ideas can easily get lost. Even when students read carefully, key concepts, reminders, or instructions may be buried within paragraphs.

Creator+ tools in Talon can help instructors address this challenge without rewriting content. Two elements that work especially well together are Callout Boxes and Click & Reveal. These tools help highlight important information while also giving students opportunities to interact with course content.

Using Callout Boxes to Highlight Important Information

Callout Boxes allow instructors to visually emphasize key points within a content page. Instead of embedding critical information within a paragraph, a callout box draws attention to the idea so students can quickly recognize its importance.

Callout boxes work well for:

  • Important concepts students often misunderstand

  • Key instructions for assignments or activities

  • Reminders about expectations or policies

  • Helpful tips that guide students through complex topics

Adding Interaction with Click & Reveal

While callout boxes emphasize key ideas, Click & Reveal elements add a layer of interaction. This feature allows students to explore information by clicking to reveal additional content.

Click & Reveal works well for content such as:

  • Common misconceptions

  • Step-by-step explanations

  • Vocabulary definitions

  • Examples or scenarios

  • Review questions

Getting Started

You don’t need to redesign an entire course to benefit from these tools. Start with a page that already contains important explanations or concepts and consider where a highlighted point or a simple interaction could help guide students.
