How can I reveal content based on completion of other content?
Release Conditions can be used within the Course Content tool to selectively release content based on performance and other criteria available in Talon. The most common use-case is to hide future content until some level of completeness or competency is shown (e.g., Release Module 2 after the student achieves 80% or better on the Module 1 Quiz).

WARNING: Be careful that you do not create impossible Release Conditions. For example, a module is released when the quiz inside the module is taken.
Creating a Release Condition on a Module or Submodule
- Click on the "Add dates and restrictions..." area below the title of the module in the main window
- Under the Release Conditions section, click the Create button
- Select the Condition Type from the dropdown menu (this will be the condition the student must meet to see this module)
- Depending on the Condition Type selected, you will configure the Condition Details according to your needs. In the example below, the Module will become available to students after they achieve greater than or equal to 80% on the World History quiz.

NOTE: When you create a Release Condition on a Module or Submodule, this only hides the module in the Course Content tool. If there are quizzes, discussions, or assignments inside the module, you would need to also apply the same Release Condition to those individual items as well. Otherwise, students might still access them via the Calendar tool or Progress tool.
Creating a Release Condition on a Content Topic (e.g, Quiz, Discussions, Assignment, etc)
The only difference from the steps to create a release condition on a module is the first step. For content items inside modules and submodules, first click on the action menu (down arrow) icon after the item title and choose "Edit properties in place." Then you can click on the "Add dates and restrictions..." option and the remaining steps are exactly the same.
Stacking Release Conditions
You can add multiple Release Conditions to the same module, submodule or content topic. When doing so, you will have an additional option to either require ALL the conditions to be met or ANY of the conditions to be met. Choose wisely. The ANY condition is useful when you have different paths through the content, or when using the groups tool and you want membership in two or more groups to have access to the content.
- Announcements (e.g., Create special announcements for different groups of students)
- Grades (e.g., Hide alternative assessment grades when no grade is entered)
- Awards (e.g., Issue an award based on several grade items)
- Intelligent Agents (e.g., Send automated email to students who do not complete an assignment)
