Who keeps track of time?

Computer delivered exams

The professor should set an allotted time for all computer delivered exams, so that the exam is automatically submitted when the allotted time expires.

Paper-delivered exams

Students are responsible for monitoring their own testing time and handing in their exams before their time expires. Test Center staff inform students of their allotted time, and record the start and stop times on all paper exams, but we do not stop a student who exceeds their allotted time. We recommend faulty include a disclaimer in their syllabus so students understand your expectations.

If taking your exam at the Test Center, you are responsible for monitoring your time and handing your exam in before the deadline. Test Center staff will not notify you when time expires. Going over time will incur a penalty of 1 percentage point per minute, up to a maximum of 50 points.
