How can I move a Zoom recording to Panopto?

If you plan on making regular or even semi-regular recordings in Zoom that you want in Panopto, setting up the Automated move will save you time and effort.

Automatically Move Zoom Recordings to Panopto

Notes
This needs to be set up before the recording happens in Zoom. When set, it will automatically transfer the Zoom recording in the destination folder in Panopto.
  1. Log into Panopto
  2. Click on your Initials in the upper right and choose "User Settings"
  3. Scroll down to the Meeting Import Settings and check the Zoom checkbox and click Update
  4. (Optional) Edit the Default Folder if you want your zoom recordings to go to a different folder (the default will create a new folder called Meeting Recordings)
  5. (Optional) If you have specific Zoom meeting IDs that you want to automatically place in specific Panopto folders, click the Add New button to enter the information and make that connection.

Manually Move -- Download, Save and Upload

You can also download the video from Zoom and then upload to Panopto.
  1. Log into Zoom.us
  2. Click on Recordings & Transcripts
  3. Click on the recording title
  4. Depending on what was recorded, you may have different options for downloading. If it was just you talking to the camera, Speaker view would likely be most appropriate to download. If you did any screen sharing, then Shared screen with speaker view might be best. You can click on the various options to view them.
