Can I link students to a Panopto folder with a bunch of videos I want them to access?
Can I link students to a Panopto folder with a bunch of videos I want them to access?
Sure. There are two ways to accomplish sharing groups of videos with students via one link. The first is to adjust the share settings on the folder, and the second is to create a playlist in Panopto and embed the playlist into the course.
How to adjust a Panopto folder share settings
Note: These settings will necessarily make the content available to larger groups of people and not necessarily limit access to only your students.
Log into Panopto and navigate to the folder you want to share
Click on the folder's share button
Click Change under Who can access this folder
Select the "Your Organization (unlisted)" - this will require users to log in and won't display your videos to everyone
Click Save
Copy the Share URL to use when adding the link to Talon
How to create a Panopto playlist
Note: You can't embed a Panopto playlist in Talon using the Insert Stuff button. That means, with this option you will need to set the permissions as indicated above, and copy-paste the embed code or the link to the playlist
Log into Panopto and navigate to the folder you want to create the playlist in.
Click the +Create button and choose Playlist
Give your playlist a name (description is optional)
Click the Add Videos button to choose the videos you want to add to the playlist. You can add videos from different Panopto folders. The order of the videos can be changed later
When you are done adding videos, click Close
Drag and drop the videos in the list to the desired order
Under the Share options for the playlist in Panopto, find and copy the embed code or link to paste into Talon.
