Yes! Thanks to recent upgrades, Adobe Podcast Studio now creates an audiogram = an animated transcript! This is a very engaging accessibility support that goes beyond the standard text-based transcript (which is also provided by Adobe Podcast Studio via a downloadable TXT file).
ADOBE PODCAST STUDIO
Adobe
Podcast lets users record downloadable podcasts, with accompanying TXT file
transcripts. An additional bonus is the accessible-friendly audiogram = a
visual text reader.
CREATING A PODCAST
One the main page, click the “+ New project” button to begin
. . . To start, just so you don’t forget, click on the “Untitled” link to name
your podcast.

WORKING WITH ADDED AUDIO TRACKS
- Selecting
an Intro, Outro, Transition, or Background track places a pink track into
the transcript
- Rolling
the mouse over the track generates an eight-dot icon
- Clicking
on that icon lets you drag the track into another location within the
transcript
- Clicking
on the “slider” icon (upper right-hand corner of the track) opens a small
audio editing window
- Fade
in: fades the audio track in
- Fade
out: fades the audio track out
- Set
as background: plays the length of the track as the audio recording’s
background
- Transcribe:
if the uploaded track has any vocals, they will be transcribed
- Delete:
the track can be easily deleted from the recording
SEONDARY RECORDING MENU

- Invited
guests to record: additional hosts can be invited to take part in a
recording via email or via a link; no account creation/no signing in is
required for their participation

recording

To edit the transcript - which does not affect the audio
recording - highlight the text you want to edit, so that the options menu (far
right-hand side) expands to include “Correct transcript” via the pencil icon.
EDITING THE PODCAST
Adobe Podcast does not allow users to edit the audio track
of their podcast, but they can edit the transcript!
Editing the transcript text does not affect, revise, or
update the audio in any way.
Editing modes:
- The
standard editing menu lets users copy, paste, or delete transcript content
- Highlighting
any text within the transcript adds the pencil icon the “Correct
transcript” function
- Once
in edit mode, a text box appears containing the highlighted text
- Edit
that content and then click the checkmark icon to save the revisions
DOWNLOADING A PODCAST
Users will typically get the most use from these three
download options:
- Audio:
an MP3 audio file
- Transcript:
a TXT file transcription of the audio recording
- This
can be copied and pasted into WORD, any text file, or onto the page of an
LMS
- Audiogram:
an MP4 file that includes an animated, walk-through visualization of the
text
AUDIOGRAM
Audiograms are a great way to promote engagement, provide
accessibility! They are animated transcript videos that highlight words on the
screen as they are spoken.
